5 months later I’m yet to understand what Prof Judi Wakhungu intended to achieve with her polythene ban. According to the good Professor, butchers should not use polythene bags but Bread factories are okay using them. Hawkers should not use polythene when selling their watermelon, boiled eggs and others wares, but sweets, soaps, and other factories can continue using polythene. So what exactly were we aspiring to achieve with this ban? Have we achieved it now? Was the move not malicious? Was this Professor not trying to be populist?
